My Newborn Necessities

After one year of mama-hood I have figured out my absolute favorite products that helped me get through the haze of the newborn days. I am so excited to share them with all of y'all!
-Ryan and Rose Cutie PAT
All of the R&R products are amazing but we particularly love their pacifiers. I went through several different types before we settled on these and I wish I would have discovered them sooner. They come in a flat (Mila's preferred type) or round nipple and double as a teether because they are made of a silicone material. They are on the pricier side but so worth it in my opinion!
-Nested Bean Zen Swaddle
After trying too many swaddles we fell in love with this one... the first night Mila wore it she started sleeping longer than ever before, enough said! LOL
-All Frida Baby products
Especially the BreatheFrida Humidifer with Vapor drops and the Basics Kit (all the grooming/care items you'll need). I love this brand because they offer all of the necessities in an updated and much more efficient way. P.S. Their Frida Mom products are another must have, the peri bottle was a lifesaver.
-Puracy Baby Lotion, Body Wash/Shampoo & Laundry Soap
We used this brand from day one with Mila! These products are all natural, plant based and worked great for our baby.
-Earth Mama Organic Diaper Balm
This product is 100% organic and is still part of our nightly routine. It has has been great for daily use and to control any diaper rashes that pop up.
-Earth Mama Organic Nipple Butter & Herbal Perineal Spray
You can't forget to take care of yourself post baby! I LOVED these products, the nipple butter was a lifesaver. Trust me your boobs will thank you! :)
-Haakaa Manual Breast Pump
This was an absolute game changer, this is something I used along with my regular breast pump or while breast-feeding. Some people are able to use it instead of an electric pump but for me I used it to catch any let down on the other breast that Mila wasn't feeding on or I wasn't pumping on. I couldn't believe just how much milk I was wasting before using the Haakaa.
-Hatch Baby Rest
This is a smart nightlight and sound machine all in one, it has several color and white noise options that can be worked from an app on your phone. You can also create custom "programs" for a specific sound & color to come on at the time of our choosing. We have an orange light with sounds of waves that comes on right before bedtime around 7pm and goes off around 7am.
-Tubby Todd All Over Ointment
This is magic...Mila got pretty bad baby acne at about a month old and I was so nervous to put anything on her brand new baby skin. I did a lot of research and ended up buying this, it is all natural made from avocado and cucumber extracts. It is safe for use all over your baby's body (hence the name). Not only did it help Mila's acne immediately, it's great for eczema, dry skin and really any problem areas that might pop up. We love this product and still use it.
-Owlet Smart Sock Baby Monitor
This is definitely on the expensive side, we went back and forth for a while trying to figure out if we really needed it and I am so glad that we decided to get one! I do not think I would have been able to sleep at all without this product and the peace of mind that it provided my husband and I. The monitor goes on baby's foot and you are able to see from the app on your phone her oxygen level and heart rate. If something is out of "normal range" an alarm will sound...this product was created in an effort to decrease the occurance of SIDS (SIDS was one of our biggest fears as we begun our parenting journey). I recommend buying a refurbished model, it saved us some money and worked perfectly. We used this every single night until about 5-6 months old when Mila was more mobile/able to turn over on her own. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product, it is so worth the money!
